About Dr. Payal Bajaj
A specialist in fertility, not just in IVF
An IVF specialist doctor is a gynaecologist who has gone on to train specifically in reproductive medicine — hormones, ovulation, egg and sperm quality, embryology and the procedures that help conception. Dr. Payal Bajaj is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist with more than 23 years of experience, and the Senior IVF Consultant and Medical Director at Nandi IVF in Ashok Vihar.
Her specialist training includes a Diploma in Reproductive Medicine from the University of Kiel, Germany, ASPIRE training in reproductive medicine in Japan, an ISAR academic fellowship from AFGC, India, and a Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery. That combination lets her handle both the medical and the surgical sides of infertility in one place.
The clinic has its own modular IVF lab and operation theatre complex, where vitrification, ICSI, laser-assisted hatching and embryo culture are carried out. More than 10,000 families have started treatment here, and patients rate the clinic 4.9 on Google.

When to see a specialist
When it helps to move to an IVF specialist
Many couples first see a general gynaecologist, which is a sensible start. It is worth consulting a fertility specialist when:
- 01
You have been trying for a year
Or for six months if you are over 35. Without a pregnancy by then, a full fertility work-up for both partners is worthwhile.
- 02
Periods are irregular or absent
Conditions such as PCOS and thyroid disorders affect ovulation and need targeted treatment.
- 03
A test result worries you
A low AMH, blocked tubes on an HSG or a poor semen report all change what treatment makes sense.
- 04
Treatment hasn't worked
After three or four IUI cycles, or any unsuccessful IVF cycle, a specialist review can find what was missed.
A specialist's job is to find the reason first, then match it to the simplest treatment likely to work — whether that is ovulation tracking, IUI, IVF with ICSI, or surgery.

Treatments & conditions
Specialist treatment for every cause of infertility
These are the treatments and conditions Dr. Payal Bajaj manages most often. Each plan is built around your test results rather than a fixed package.
IVF
Eggs and sperm are brought together in the lab and a healthy embryo is transferred to the uterus.
Learn moreICSI
A single sperm is injected into each egg — used for a low sperm count, poor motility or earlier fertilisation failure.
IUI
Washed sperm is placed in the uterus around ovulation; often a gentle first step for younger couples.
Learn moreEgg freezing
Eggs are frozen by vitrification so you can plan a pregnancy later, for personal or medical reasons.
Learn morePCOS
Irregular cycles managed with lifestyle advice, ovulation induction or carefully dosed IVF that lowers the risk of OHSS.
Endometriosis
Pain and fertility addressed together — laparoscopy where it helps, IVF where the disease affects the tubes or eggs.
Low AMH
A low egg reserve needs a tailored stimulation plan and realistic counselling, not a rushed decision.
Male infertility
Semen analysis, treatment of the cause, and ICSI or surgical sperm retrieval (PESA / TESA) when needed.
Repeated IVF failure
Earlier cycles are reviewed in detail — embryo quality, the uterus, timing — before trying again.
Surrogacy
Altruistic gestational surrogacy for eligible couples, strictly within the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021.

Questions to ask any IVF specialist
Use your first appointment to understand both the doctor and the clinic. These are the questions we would ask if we were in your place.
Write these down and take them to your consultation. A good doctor will be glad you asked.
- 01
What training do you have in reproductive medicine?
Look for formal fertility training beyond general gynaecology. Dr. Payal's includes reproductive medicine in Germany and Japan and an ISAR fellowship.
- 02
Is the IVF lab in-house?
An in-house lab means eggs, sperm and embryos don't travel, and the specialist works closely with the embryologists every day.
- 03
Which tests do we both need, and why?
Male factors play a part in many couples' infertility, so both partners should be assessed before treatment is decided.
- 04
How will my cycle be monitored?
Ask how often scans and blood tests are done, and who reviews them. Careful monitoring keeps stimulation safe.
- 05
How many embryos will be transferred?
Transferring one embryo lowers the risk of a twin pregnancy. Ask how that decision will be made in your case.
Getting started
From first appointment to treatment
Here is how a typical start looks when you consult Dr. Payal Bajaj as your IVF specialist.
- 01
Consultation for both partners
Medical history, lifestyle, previous treatment and your goals — including how soon you hope to start.
- 02
Specialist assessment
A transvaginal ultrasound of the uterus and follicles, hormone tests including AMH, and a semen analysis.
- 03
Diagnosis and options
Dr. Payal explains what the results mean and which treatments fit, with honest chances for each.
- 04
Treatment calendar
If you go ahead, you receive a schedule of injections, scans and procedures, together with an itemised estimate.
Transparent costs
Transparent pricing for specialist treatment
Specialist fertility care does not have to mean surprise bills. Costs depend on which treatment you need — IUI costs far less than IVF, and ICSI, embryo freezing or genetic testing are added to an IVF cycle only when they are clinically useful.
Once your diagnosis is clear, you receive an itemised estimate covering consultations, medicines, scans, procedures and lab work. The team will also explain payment options, including EMI.
What you can expect
- Estimate given after diagnosis, not guessed before
- Add-ons advised only when they are likely to help
- EMI options, including 0% interest loan plans
- Questions about cost answered openly at any stage
